Path to Permanency is giving away six mini photo sessions to children and families involved in foster care this holiday season!

Caregivers may register their own families, and Guardians ad Litem and social workers may register on behalf of a child on their caseloads who would benefit from this opportunity.

Sessions will be held on November 7 from 3:15–5:15 p.m. at Rocky River Roots, with Loved and Free Photography behind the camera. Each 20-minute session includes a digital album, delivered two weeks after your session, to choose seven professionally edited photos ready to download and display.

Winners are encouraged to include siblings, biological relatives, mentors, caregivers, and others the child considers family—however that child defines family. Family photos can serve as visible reminders of connection, helping children recognize the people who love them and visualize where they belong.  The moments captured will be a great addition to the child's lifebook that helps preserve their story, relationships, and sense of belonging.

It is our small way of celebrating the children and families navigating foster care—and thanking the caregivers and professionals who support them along their paths to permanency.

Giveaway Details

Eligible entries are limited to caregivers, social workers, and GALs (each referred to below as an "eligible respondent"), defined as follows: kinship caregivers, guardians, foster families, and adoptive families formed through foster care may submit their own entry; social workers and GALs may submit an entry on behalf of a child on their caseload. If a social worker or GAL is selected, Path to Permanency will coordinate with them and the child's caregiver to confirm participation and obtain any necessary permissions. All sessions must be supervised by at least one eligible respondent, and only one entry is allowed per eligible respondent.

Giveaway will close on October 7, 2026. Caregivers will be selected randomly and informed on October 8, 2026, with 72-hours to respond that they would like to participate in the session. Slots will be given on a first come basis in 20-minute increments between 4-6pm on November 7th. Participating families will be provided with 7 edited photos, with the opportunity to purchase more if they'd like. All entries will be entered into the Path to Permanency database to receive updates about their organization's work to improve timely permanency for kids in Mecklenburg County. Path to Permanency will not receive copies of the photos taken, nor publicly post any photos of a child currently in custody.

For holiday season, this family-run farm is creating a picturesque backdrop for your family photos. But their mission goes far beyond the season — year-round, they're dedicated to growing more than just plants, building a place where people can connect, learn, and grow together. Through their gardens, greenhouse, and market, they're designing a gathering space for anyone who wants hands-on learning and real community connection through gardening.
