About the Event
Join us in telling our stories to the county commissioners regarding the length of foster cases in Mecklenburg county and the impacts it is having on youth and the system as a whole.
Our ask will focus on:
Integrate Accountability Metrics: Formally include specific child welfare permanency measures within the County Manager’s annual performance objectives.
Create a Citizen’s Advisory Board: Establish a Citizen’s Advisory Board specifically for Child Welfare as the Consolidated Human Services Board is too broad to address complex and urgent child welfare policy.
Continue Quarterly Meetings: Continue facilitating productive dialogue between YFS and Path to Permanency to advance shared ideas for improvement.
