About the Event
This is the follow-up to our second People's Assembly. Join us as we explore our Research Teams' insights into the critical barriers preventing timely permanency for children in Mecklenburg County and bringing these cases back within the federal Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA) standards. We will brainstorm ideas to take our priority problems and narrow them into specific issues and then convert those into meaningful actions. We will share the progress we’ve made in reimagining how foster care works in our county and update you on the meetings we have had with child welfare specialists and local decision makers. Highlight actionable steps you can take to get involved—whether you have five minutes or five hours a week. Let’s build momentum, share space, and grow our collective impact!
We’ll also have dinner (come hungry!) and child care provided, so bring the whole family.
